The Trigger Kicker is an entirely new active reset trigger I have invented and developed for the AR-15 platform. I believe it is now the simplest repeat reset trigger in existence, even more so than the Super Safety. Before we begin, know that the Kicker is now available for sale here on the website: /product/trigger-kicker/
In a nutshell the Kicker replaces the disconnector in a standard “mil-spec” AR-15 fire control group. The hammer contacts the kicker to reset the trigger and then moves the kicker under the safety selector to lock the trigger in the reset position until the carrier moves back into battery, moving the kicker forward to unlock the trigger allowing the user to fire again if they choose.
I thought up the Kicker back in the beginning of the year while looking at alternative cam based systems. Development of a prototype only took a few days, but perfecting the design took several months, and then several more months to move through production. Its a fascinating story I’ll share more in the future.
The Kicker being compatible with standard safety selectors is only a single mode device, in other words just safe and repeat reset semiautomatic mode. I have already designed and tested a three mode version which will have a custom selector allowing standard spring reset semiautomatic mode, but we need to sell a lot of the single mode Kickers before we have the capital to move the dual mode through development and into production.
It is also the intention to produce kickers for other platforms, once again this will take time and funding.
